Support Connection of Yorktown

sponsored by The Hudson River Watertrail Association

A 9-mile Poker Paddle Fundraiser for The Support Connection of Yorktown
Saturday, September 10th, 2016

Despite the threat of thunderstorms, nearly 100 people came out on September 10th to Long Dock in Beacon, NY for The Hudson River Watertrail Association’s 6th Annual Paddle for a Cure. Paddlers in all variety of Kayaks and on standup paddle boards joined us for the 9 mile paddle down the scenic Hudson River, past Dennings Point, Bannerman’s Island, Breakneck Ridge, and Little Stoney Point collecting playing cards along the way for the poker paddle fundraiser benefitting the Support Connection.

After the paddle, everyone gathered at Dockside in Cold Spring to meet up with old friends, make some new ones, and to eat, drink, and enjoy the music of the Regulators while anticipating the awarding of prizes and 2 great raffles. A truly enjoyable day was had by all.

An unsolicited comment from one of our returning participants….
“what a delightful day..(in spite of the heat and humidity) and once again flawless on the organizational end of things.. in honor of the excellent job the HRWTA did today I am sending an additional contribution to Support Connection..thank you and your team for once again hosting a terrific event..”

…and a warm thank you from the Support Connection:
“Thanks so much Peggy for another wonderful, fabulous event.   I fully appreciate how difficult it is to organize an event that has so many moving parts that must come together so smoothly.  Peggy, you and your great group do a fabulous job.  We are so grateful and have been able to help so many people because of your selecting us as the beneficiary of this event.  Enjoy this beautiful day!
